Cameron Mackay is a UK-based (Biggleswade, Bedfordshire) South African batting all-rounder seeking a new challenge next summer.
Holder of a UK Ancestry Visa, prior to his move to England in 2019, he was ranked the top all-rounder 3-years running for Gonubie Super Eagles. He also played in the T20 finals for top South African schools.
Since his relocation to the UK, he has played in Bedfordshire for Biggleswade Cricket Club around his work commitments.
In his opening year (2019), he was awarded the club’s best batter for his 276 runs at 34.50 – a tally that included his maiden hundred (102*) for the club.
After the truncated 2020 “COVID” season, he enjoyed a prolific 2021 summer, hitting 1,069 runs (at 38.18) for the club, alongside 29 wickets at 28.59 with his handy medium pace.
On Saturdays, he was the 6th leading run-scorer in Division 3 of the Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Premier League (356 runs at 29.67).
On Sundays, he topped the Bedfordshire County Cricket League (Division 1) run charts with 537 runs at 59.67, all with a strike rate of 130.67.
His success for Biggleswade has generated interest from the County, playing fixtures for Bedfordshire CCC’s 2nd XI.
Now Mackay is seeking pastures new and is open to opportunities at a higher club level for the 2022 season.
