Daniel Winter is an exciting, young all-rounder playing for East Coast Bays Cricket Club in Auckland's top-flight, Premier Men's Competition.

A hard-hitting batter, who has transformed from keeping to seam bowling in recent years, Winter broke into the Bay's 1st XI last summer. In a side littered with State players including the likes of Louis Delport, Ryan Harrison (Auckland), Caleb Gaylard (Central Districts), and skipper Seb Langridge (Central Districts A), he has made the middle-order slot his own.

Prior to joining East Coast Bays, he was a star performer for Rosmini College, playing 1st XI cricket from 2017 to 2019. He produced his most notable performance for the College during their Gillette Cup qualifying final, scoring 128* from 101 balls, hitting 15 maximums. During his 2019 Gillette Cup campaign, he averaged 35 against the top 5 cricketing schools in the country. Courtesy of his success, he was awarded the College's "Batter" and "Player" of the Year awards.

Now Winter is playing alongside and against a raft of professional cricketers for East Coast Bays, he now aspires to break into the Auckland A, and Aces set-up in future. He is already part of the Auckland DFA (Developing Future Aces) squad, so has already been earmarked for higher honours by the Association.

Holder of a British Passport, courtesy of his English mother, Winter doubles as an accredited NZC level 1 (UKCC 2 equivalent) coach. Whilst unavailable for the UK 2022 season, he is open to opportunities in future.
