Harry Bates is a right-arm bowling all-rounder who has recently graduated from Loughborough University.
The talented young seamer has spent the last four years (2018-2022) playing for the MCCU high-performance cricket squad, whilst also completing a BSC Applied Sports Science with Management degree.
Bates has further represented Northamptonshire County Cricket Club Academy (2018-19) and Northamptonshire 2XI at senior level between 2018-2020. More recently in 2022, the middle-order batter and tall seamer suffered from prolonged injury. These setbacks have led to the quickie taking time away from his county ambitions whilst regaining full fitness.
Now back fully fit, the young seamer has been a regular for club side Sileby Town in the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League last season. Playing in the premier division, Bates' RA fast medium took 23 wickets at 24.31.
Bates has a burning desire to still play first-class cricket. After a bright start to his career working his way through the Northamptonshire Academy, the youngster has suffered setbacks due to injury. However, he's now back to full fitness and, in fact, headed down under to play for South Caulfield last summer.
Given his success, he is now set to return to the club for their 2023/24 Cricket Southern Bayside campaign.
