James Boyle (20) is a young english cricketer who is currently playing cricket for Exeter University and Cirencester, however is looking at playing at a higher level shown by his passion to move to a bigger club next summer in WEPL 1 with many clubs asking for him to play.
James is a right handed top/middle order batsman and a right arm medium fast bowler. He is a flamboyant batsman who likes to score quickly and not afraid to play his own attacking way. However his bowling is the opposite, he is a patient bowler who tests the patience of the batsman with the ability to swing the ball both ways.
Playing school boy cricket James excelled where he was a key member of the 1st XI for Cheltenham College for 2 years (3rd year didn't happen due to COVID). James scored 637 runs at an average of 40 including 3 hundreds as well as taking 13 wickets throughout the season which got him called up to the Gloucestershire U17s and a couple of academy games.
After a successful winter programme and early summer form James was asked to represent Somerset 2nd XI in a pre season friendly against Cornwall. However, James didn't get called up to play again until the September fixtures where he was unfortunately not available to play.
Next season James is looking to push to play more for Somerset 2nd XI or other 2nd XI teams as well as making an impression when taking to playing in WEPL 1, before embarking on a winter in Australia or New Zealand.
