Joshua James is a towering all-rounder from the small island of Tobago in the Caribbean.

A player of immense talent, in January 2020, James became the first Tobagonian to play for the West Indies at an ICC Under-19 World Cup. He impressed bagging 5 wickets at 32 alongside 83 runs at 41.50 during the tournament held in South Africa.

Thereafter, he headed to England to play league cricket, before earning CPL selection for the Jamaica Tawallahs (Sept 2021). Whilst he only featured in one match, playing alongside superstars including the likes of Carlos Brathwaite, Fidel Edwards, and Andre Russell, it was clearly evident that James has a future in the game.

A tall quick, and hard-hitting batter, James is currently trying to break into professional cricket in the Caribbean, having enjoyed plenty of success at the junior level.

He is seeking a UK return in 2022 after his run-filled stint in the Durham and Northeast Cricket League last summer. Playing for Evenwood, he struck 690 runs at 46 in all competitions, alongside 14 wickets at 27.21.

He was particularly impressive in the DNECL itself striking 464 runs at 66.29 with back-to-back centuries against Hunwick (150*), and Murton (131).

Now a UKCC 2 qualified coach, James is keen to secure a return for the upcoming 2022 season.
