Kieran McComb is an accomplished left-arm spinner from Wellington, New Zealand.
Born in Leeds (Yorkshire), the dual Passport holder has impressed in Wellington for the best part of a decade, culminating with his Plunket Shield (first-class) debut for the Wellington Firebirds in April 2022.
The left-arm spinner is one of Wellington Premier Cricket’s stand-out performers and has been for many years. With 170-plus games under his belt for Taita Cricket Club, he currently sits amongst the all-time wicket-takers for the club (296 Premier wickets as at 09/02/23).
Over the past two seasons, he has picked up the club's Cricket of the Year award, bagging 50 wickets during the 2020/21 season. He has also been a Wellington A regular, and a Firebirds training squad member in recent times.
McComb is pushing for a Firebirds return this summer, and courtesy of his recent 11-wicket haul (6-39 & 5-63) in Taita's win over Upper Hutt, it's fair to say he's in the mix for selection.
Following the current 2022/23 season, the kiwi tweaker is eager to return to England for another league stint in 2023, following his season in the Nottinghamshire Premier League (Papplewick & Linby) a decade ago (53 wickets at 25.13).
The dual Passport holding spinner, who also doubles as a highly accredited and experienced NZC Level 2 (UKCC 2 equivalent) coach, is a fantastic acquisition for any club next summer.
