Lahiru Gamage is an international quick who represented Sri Lanka in 5 Tests (2017-18) and 9 ODIs (2014-17).

A tall, opening swing bowler, Gamage took 19 wickets across the two formats, with best figures of 2-38 and 4-57 in Test and ODI cricket, respectively. Despite being awarded one of 33 national contracts for the 2018/19 season, Gamage hasn’t featured for Sri Lankan since his last Test against the Windies in June 2018.

Nevertheless, he continues to produce consistent performances in domestic cricket, playing for recent T20 champions’ Colombo Cricket Club, alongside CricX stars Ron Chandraguptha, Lasith Abeyratne and CCC skipper, Ashan Priyanjan.

Since his List A debut in November 2006, Gamage has taken well over 400 wickets with 13 five-wicket bags and 2 ten-wicket match hauls. Gamage has been particularly impressive since the introduction of T20 cricket, taking 55 wickets at 19.40, with an outstanding strike-rate of a wicket every 15.8 balls and an economy of 7.34.

The former Sri Lankan quick is now keen to explore opportunities overseas, whether that be league cricket in England, or T20 cricket globally. A high-class seamer and someone who comes recommended as not only a fine cricketer but a fantastic bloke to boot.
