Muhammed Mayet is a talented batting all-rounder playing for the Mpumalanga Rhinos in South African domestic cricket.
A player of considerable promise, Mayet bats 3 and bowls handy swing, often used as first change or as a holding bowler for the Rhinos.
Much has been expected of this talented all-rounder since he represented South Africa, alongside the likes of Proteas Wiaan Mulder, and Lutho Sipamla, in 9 ODI’s during the 2016/17 season.
A Border, Gauteng, and Lions under-age star, Mayet broke into professional cricket for Gauteng during the 2017/18 season. He then enjoyed a breakthrough 2018/19 season hitting 321 runs at 40.21 in 6 first-class matches. Since then, he has gone on to play over 50 matches across the three formats where he has enjoyed success, particularly in the first-class and 50-over format.
This summer (2022/23) he moved to the Rhinos and has taken on a key role for the side in Division 2 of the CSA 4-Day Series. He is hoping to kick on, dominate, and push for higher honours in the future.
For now, though, the talented batting all-rounder is seeking a second opportunity to play abroad having enjoyed a brief 12-game stint last summer for Great Ayton in the strong North Yorkshire and South Durham Premier League.
A level 2 coach, Mayet is keen on his coaching and would like a strong club in 2023 to continue his development and get fully immersed in junior coaching.
