Nauman Anwar is a high-class professional playing for Central Punjab in their Pakistan Cup 2nd XI Trophy and National T20 2nd XI Cup competitions.

Whilst Anwar hasn’t played first-class cricket for the past few seasons, he is a key white-ball performer.

His talent was recognised by national selectors very early in his domestic career. Anwar earned a T20 international debut for Pakistan against the touring Zimbabweans in May 2015, having only played 5 T20 matches. Whilst he hasn’t featured since his solitary outing, he has continued to star in domestic cricket.

An explosive top-order batter who bowls brisk medium pace, Anwar most recently lit up the Quaid-e-Azam One Day Competition in 2018/19, hitting 286 runs at 40.85 to include a brilliant 152.

Following his barnstorming season, Anwar was picked up to play for Marske in the strong North Yorkshire and South Durham Premier League. He excelled during his maiden stint. He scored 746 runs at 35.52, but it was his exploits with the ball that really impressed, taking 30 wickets at 8.80.

The hugely talented all-rounder returned to the UK last summer and enjoyed a barnstorming stint with Glendermott. Playing in the North West Cricket Union he was a sensation scoring 761 runs at 69.18 with 2 incredible hundreds (S/R 118.17).

He was the second leading run-scorer across all formats in the North West - only 139 runs shy of top run-getting Irosh Samarasooriya who had 7 more innings. He also picked up 21 wickets at 17.86 for good measure.

Given his success, the club was quick to re-sign Anwer for 2022, but due to Home Office regulations owing to insufficient recent first-class matches, the club was been forced to terminate.

Therefore, Anwar headed to America where he has impressed and continues to ply his trade.
