Nicholson Gordon is a genuine quick playing for the star-studded Jamaican Scorpions side in West Indies domestic cricket.
Playing alongside the likes of Windies players Jermaine Blackwood, Nkruma Bonner, John Campbell, Assad Fudadin, Brandon King, and Rovman Powell, to name but a few, Gordon has become a star performer for the Scorpions.
Gordon, who represented the West Indies at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2010, initially broke into professional cricket in 2016. In 2 first-class matches, he bowled 19 wicket-less overs and was subsequently overlooked for the next few seasons.
3-years later (March 2019), Gordon made a spectacular return to the domestic scene, taking 9 wickets including first-innings figures of 7-70 against Trinidad and Tobago.
Roll on the 2019/20 season, and he continued to excel for Jamaica in the WICB Professional Cricket League Regional 4-Day Tournament. He bagged 17 wickets at 19.47 in 5 matches, including best figures of 6-45 and 5-96 against rivals Barbados and the Leeward Islands, respectively.
Gordon is now in the form of his life and was rewarded Caribbean Premier League selection for tournament winners Jamaica Tallawahs (Sept 2022). He enjoyed significant success bagging 9 wickets at 22.44 throughout the campaign, in a victorious side including the likes of Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Nabi, and Chris Green.
The super-fit paceman is now seeking an opportunity to return abroad in 2023, following a stint in the Netherlands for Dosti back in 2013.
Holder of an Australian coaching accreditation, alongside playing commitments he is keen to help with coaching, which is another strong passion of his. Gordon represents a fantastic signing for any UK club side in 20223.
