Nick Slack is, by his own admission, a “cricket nerd” who absolutely loves the game.
As a player, Slack plays in the lower grades for a Mosman Cricket Club who won both the Sydney first and second-grade titles last summer (2021/22).
An opening medium-pacer, Slack has featured across the lower grades but has predominantly excelled in the fifth grade, topping the wicket charts last season on his way to “Player of the Year” with 20 poles at 13.80, taking his Mosman career tally to 98 at 18.60.
Off the field, Slack is heavily involved with cricket. He has volunteered at the Women’s World Cup, and numerous BBL games. He currently works for Cricket NSW as a Primary/Secondary School coach, and is also a certified level 2 football referee.
Whilst in his early 20s, Slack is a mature, hard-working, and positive team member who is now looking to develop his own game with a season abroad.
Regarded as an all round “nice guy”, Slack is eager to play and coach cricket in the UK next summer and he'll get that chance having signed with Newquay for their 2023 Cornwall League campaign.
