Nikit Dhumal is a quality seamer playing for the powerhouse Maharasthra side in Indian domestic cricket. The tall right-armer has represented the State since 2012/13, albeit hasn’t commanded a regular spot, despite some prominent performances.
His career-best figures to date came against a strong Karnataka side during the 2015/16 season, where he picked up second innings figures of 5-78. Two seasons later (2017/18) he bagged career-best match figures of 9-142 against Assam, to include figures of 5-94 and 4-48.
Despite 11 wickets at 18.81 and 12 wickets at 36.75 during these two seasons, respectively, he only featured in 4 of the 2018/19 Ranji Trophy matches. Nevertheless, impressive performances at Premier Club level for SCC, to include the incredible figures of 9-7 (7) against Aloch Cricket Club, paved way for a Ranji return for the 2019/20 season opener against Chhattisgarh.
The opening quick is now eager to cement his spot during the 2021/22 Ranji campaign, before exploring opportunities abroad in 2022.
Not only a fine seamer, Dhumal is an accomplished batter who bats in the top-middle order in club cricket. In first-class cricket, he normally bats 8-9, but has batted as high as 7 and boasts a highest score of 27* in his limited outings to date. During his maiden UK stint in 2022, he is keen to fill an all-rounder’s role where he aims to impress.
