Ravishka Wijesiri is an exciting prospect from Galle, in Sri Lanka’s Southern Province. A genuine all-rounder, Wijesiri bats in the middle-order and bowls left-arm orthodox spin.

A schoolboy prodigy, Wijesiri was runner-up as the best player during the 2015 Sri Lankan Schools (U15) All-Island tournament. A few years later, he was involved with the Sri Lankan Under-19 squad throughout the 2017/18 season.

The all-rounder was picked up by Kandy Customs Cricket Club straight from school, making his T20 and List A debuts in February and March 2019, respectively.

Such was his talent, Wijesiri was recruited to play for his current club, Galle, for the 2019/20 Premier League Tournament. He impressed.

Following a string of notable performances, to include back-to-back fifties against Navy and Police, Wijesiri ended the Tier B campaign with 268 runs at 26.80, alongside 11 wickets at 25.27.

The youngster now aspires to progress in the game, in a view to making the Lankan Premier League and perhaps National honours in future.

For now, though, the talented all-rounder is looking to excel for Galle when first-class cricket this summer before embarking on what he hopes will be his maiden UK club stint in 2022.
