Ron Chandraguptha is one of Sri Lanka’s most exciting batting talents, who has starred in domestic cricket in recent seasons, culminating with Sri Lankan A selection in 2016/17.

Product of the prestigious Trinity College, whose alumni include none other than the great Kumar Sangakkara, the dashing left-handed opening batsman was amongst the leading run-scorers in Tier A of the Premier Tournament in 2016/17 (837 runs at 59.78). He finished as the fifth leading run-scorer and second to fellow CricX client Sangeeth Cooray on the run averages (players with 500+ runs).

He struck 4 centuries, including 3 on the bounce for Colombo Cricket Club and was rewarded with Board President’s XI selection against the touring England Lions. Opening up, against an attack including Toby Roland-Jones, Tom Helm, Craig Overton and the Curren brothers, the diminutive left-hander impressed, striking scores of 48 and 91.

His sound technique and temperament earned further national representation, as he toured the West Indies with the 'A' side. Whilst he didn't set the world alight, the talented CCC batsman returned to domestic cricket and struck another 395 runs at 30.38 in 2017/18, then backed up with a further 512 runs at 30.11 in 2018/19.

Chandraguptha is a class act, who is looking for his first opportunity to play UK league cricket in 2020. Add his ability to bowl handy left-arm chinaman’s, Chandraguptha represents a high-class option, someone we can highly recommend.
