Sahir Naqash is an experienced batting all-rounder (seam) playing for the German National side.
He has been a key performer for the Germans since his T20I debut in May 2019. In 35 matches for Germany, to include the recent (July 2023) ICC World Cup European qualifiers in Ccotland, he has 223 runs at 22.13, and 41 wickets at 14.68.
Of Pakistani origin, the all-rounder plays in a German side including County players Dieter Klein (Leicestershire), Michael Richardson (Durham), and South African's Joshua van Heerden (Border), and CricX star Dylan Blignaut (Nottinghamshire 2nd XI). He was named Player of the Tri-National Series at Krefeld (between Norway, France, and Germany) in August 2021, then impressed in the ICC T20 World Cup European qualifiers (Sept/Oct 2021).
He finished the tournament narrowly outside the top 5 wicket-takers with an average of 13.85. As a guide, he finished ahead of County quicks Klein, Grant Stewart (Kent), Gareth Berg (Northants), and Jade Dernbach (Surrey). Whilst batting opportunities were limited to the middle/lower order, he produced some notable performances to top the side's strike rates (131.42).
Naqash hit the qualifiers in great form following a strong season for Salland (2021) in the Dutch Hoofdklasse (243 runs at 48.60 and 8 wickets at 17). It was his maiden stint in the Netherlands having previously dominated the German Bundesliga (2017) and Super Series (2018).
The all-rounder has really hit his straps for Germany and is now eager to explore Topklasse opportunities in the Netherlands for the Dutch 2024 season.
