Samar Quadri is an experienced leg-break googly spinner and capable lower-order batter playing for Bihar in Indian domestic cricket.
He has spent a decade plying his trade across the three formats but has particularly excelled in red-ball cricket. In 45 Ranji Trophy matches, Quadri has taken 157 wickets at 28.50 with 9 five-wicket bags and best match figures of 10-69.
He joined Bihar for the 2018/19 season, following a long stint with Jharkhand (2009/10-17/18), with whom he took 120 wickets at 30.89 in first-class cricket. In his maiden season for Bihar, Quadri bagged an incredible 35 wickets at 15.54 with 3 five-wicket hauls. He also showed ability with the bat, averaging 32.60 throughout his Ranji campaign.
During the past decade, Quadri has been involved with higher representative teams, including East Zone (Deodhar Trophy), and IPL sides Delhi Capitals, and the Rajasthan Royals, as an elite bowling squad member. He was also selected for the National Cricket Academy and the Indian spinners camp back in 2016.
Quadri is an exceptionally talented cricketer, who unfortunately suffered an ankle injury and only featured in 2 first-class matches in 2019/20, before COVID hampered last summer’s Ranji Trophy.
He is likely to return to domestic action this coming season and, thereafter, is eager to secure his maiden UK pro stint in future.
(Quadri requires 5 FC matches this summer to qualify for an ISP visa).
