Shawkat Zaman is a talented young batter and useful spinner from Afghanistan. He seems destined for higher honours having represented Afghanistan at Under-19, Under-23, and Development levels to date.

Such was his talent, Zaman broke into the Afghanistan Under-19s as a 15-year-old (2014) playing alongside the likes of Rashid Khan, Hazratullah Zazai, and CricX stars Shahidullah Kamal, and Zia Ur Rehman Akbar.

He would go on to make his domestic debut in all formats during the 2017/18 season, where he impressed, particularly in the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-Day Tournament (929 runs at 32.03 with 3 centuries).

In November 2019, Zaman would make his Afghanistan Under-23 debut playing in the Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup.

Unfortunately, COVID then struck, hampering his progress, but he has subsequently returned to the domestic fold for Speen Ghar Region this summer.

Zaman has high hopes of playing international cricket in the future and in view of his ongoing development he is eager to play cricket abroad in 2022.

A player that comes highly recommended by numerous sources, Zaman represents a fantastic recruit for any club this summer.

Not only a fine player but a keen coach who runs his own Coaching Academy in Afghanistan.

There are no overseas stats available for this player.
