Vikum Sanjaya is a former international speedster, who featured for Sri Lanka in 8 T20 internationals in 2017. Despite a series of impressive performances (9 wickets at 27.77), he hasn’t featured since, therefore is seeking opportunities abroad.

The opening quick was picked based on promise rather than domestic numbers. An exceptional outing for the Sri Lankan Board XI against the Australians, with figures of 3-26 (4) including the wickets of Joe Burns, Sam Heazlett, and Jason Sangha, prompted his T20 debut a few days later.

In his 3 T20s against Australia, he picked up the notable wickets of Aaron Finch, Michael Klinger, and Moises Henriques. Sanjaya then featured in T20s against Bangladesh, and Pakistan, adding the likes of Fakhar Zaman, Ahmed Shehzad, and Shoaib Malik to his roll call of international wickets, which also includes Dean Elgar, KL Rahul, Ben Duckett, and Keaton Jennings twice during the Lions tour of Sri Lanka in March 2017.

Following Sanjaya’s national exclusion, following his final T20 outing in October 2017, he decided to pursue an opportunity in New Zealand for the 2019/20 season. Playing for Tech Old Boys, he lit up the Wanganui Premier Competition. Opening both batting and bowling, the Sri Lankan slinger earned rave reviews.

After returning to Sri Lanka and playing for Nugegoda SWC in March 2021, Sanjaya is now seeking an opportunity in Australia for the 2022/23 season. He would be a quite sensational signing who has the potential to be an absolute match-winner in club cricket conditions.
