Yasoda Mendis is a pace-bowling all-rounder playing in the top tier of Sri Lankan cricket.

A late bloomer, Mendis broke into domestic cricket in January 2017, and ultimately cemented his spot the following summer.

Playing for Sri Lanka Army Sports Club, alongside international stars Dinesh Chandimal, Asela Gunaratne, and Seekkuge Prasanna, the all-rounder has impressed over the past two seasons.

In 2018/19, he struck 233 runs at 23.30 from the lower-middle order, then the following season he showed his all-round skills by taking 16 wickets at 15 with the ball.

His season highlight came against Moors Sports Club, dismantling the side with figures of 7-18 (15.1).

Unfortunately, COVID struck at the wrong time for Mendis, just as he was starting to excel in domestic cricket. Nevertheless, he has returned to the fold and is currently doing well for the Army in 2022.

Mendis is a player who comes highly recommended. Explosive with the bat, and skillful with the ball. He is seeking an opportunity in Australia/New Zealand for the 2022/23 season, and thereafter a maiden UK stint in 2023.

There are no overseas stats available for this player.
