Saltburn has pulled off a coup with the signing of Pakistani run machine Ahsan Ali for their 2022 NYSD campaign.

Ali is an exceptional batter who has starred on Pakistan’s domestic circuit and featured in 2 T20 internationals.

A former U19 run machine, Ali has played domestic cricket since 2013, racking up 6 centuries and 4,000 plus runs in the process.

A penchant for “going big”, Ali boasts notable first-class scores of 224, 200, and 303*, amongst season tallies of 366 runs at 40.66 (2014/15), 422 runs at 46.88 (2016/17), and 678 runs at 67.80 (2021/22).

However, it was his one-day campaign in 2018/19 (522 runs at 47.45) that sparked national selectors’ interest, culminating with T20 international selection v Bangladesh (Jan 2020).

Surprisingly, he hasn’t featured since, but his barnstorming recent QeA season, including his triple century, has put his name firmly back in the ring.

Ali, who also bowls useful leg-spin, has also represented Franchise sides in both Pakistan (Quetta Gladiators) and Sri Lanka (Galle Gladiators).

Following his domestic season, Ali is set to embark on his maiden UK stint having recently signed with Saltburn for their 2022 North Yorkshire and South Durham Premier League campaign.
