Oli Hairs is a dynamic left-handed opener renowned for his fearless stroke play and remarkable power at the top of the order. Having represented Scotland in 35 international matches—30 of them in T20Is—Hairs boasts a phenomenal strike rate of 165.24, making him one of the most dangerous batters in the Associate world.

His international highlight came at The Grange, Edinburgh, where he etched his name into Scottish cricket history with the fastest-ever century for the national side—an electrifying 102 off just 40 balls. That innings blossomed into an unbeaten 127 against Italy*, featuring 14 fours and 8 sixes, as Scotland posted a record-breaking 155-run victory.

Oli’s journey is a story of raw talent, resilience, and resurgence. A cricketing prodigy, he burst onto the Scottish domestic scene as a teenager, smashing over 600 runs in 2010 to power Mazars Grange to the CSL Eastern Premiership title. His sensational form earned him a Scotland debut at just 19, including five ODI appearances in the summer of 2010.

Following a stint at university in York and a subsequent cricketing adventure in Australia—cut short by a serious knee injury—Hairs regrouped and reignited his passion for the game. After time in the Birmingham League and Surrey Championship, where he also dedicated himself to junior coaching, he returned to Scottish cricket in 2019 with renewed hunger.

Commuting weekly from Surrey to represent The Grange and Eastern Knights, Hairs made an immediate impact, hammering three blistering centuries in the Regional Series and topping the Pro 50 Cup run charts with 314 runs at an average of 78.50 and a strike rate of 146.04. In the T20 Blitz, he continued his dominance, scoring 144 runs at 48.00, striking at an astonishing 187.01.

In domestic league play, he lit up the scoreboard again, finishing third in the Eastern Premiership with 524 runs at 65.50, highlighted by a jaw-dropping 179 off 81 balls*, including 12 sixes. In 2024, he produced one of Scottish cricket's best-ever innings, playing for the 'A' side against Oman, he belted 255 from only 130 balls.

Recalled to the national side in late 2019, Hairs has reestablished himself as a key figure at the top of the order, often pairing with George Munsey to form one of Associate cricket’s most explosive opening duos.
