Maduranga Zoysa is a seasoned, high-class professional with more than a decade of overseas experience – including two seasons in Australia, ten in England, and over 100 appearances in Sri Lankan domestic cricket.
Currently with Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club, Zoysa has scored over 3,000 runs across formats, with the bulk of his tally coming in the past five seasons. His return to first-class cricket in 2016/17 after a four-year break was nothing short of spectacular, amassing 545 runs at 45.41 with two centuries. Since then, he has remained a consistent contributor, producing season tallies of 500 (2017/18), 194 (2018/19), 356 (2019/20), and 346 (2022/23), along the way recording three first-class centuries, eleven fifties, and a highest score of 203 against Kalutara Town.
Zoysa’s overseas record is equally impressive. In Australia, he played two strong seasons for Eltham Collegians in the Diamond Valley Cricket Association before turning heads in England, where stints with Acton (Middlesex League) and Coventry & North Warwickshire yielded prolific returns – 2,207 runs at 40.87 across three London summers (2013-15) and 1,973 runs at 40.27 over two years in Birmingham (2017-18). His 2019 campaign with Bracebridge Heath in the Lincolnshire ECB Premier League was a career highlight, breaking the league’s individual scoring record with a blistering 264 off 137 balls in the Play-Off Final, and finishing with 1,327 runs at 51.04, including five centuries.
A proven performer with bat in hand, Zoysa is also a passionate and effective coach. He has worked extensively with juniors and seniors at top UK clubs such as Spencer – the country’s largest cricket memberships – and Dorking in the Surrey Championship, where he combined on-field contributions (1,730 runs over four seasons) with developing the next generation of players.
For 2026, Zoysa is open to a UK return, offering clubs a rare combination of proven run-scoring ability, vast experience, and genuine value as both a player and mentor.
