Aaron Johnson is an explosive right handed opening batsman and international cricketer who has represented Canada at the highest level, including the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Born in Saint Catherine, Jamaica, Johnson developed his game in the Caribbean system before relocating to Canada, where he quickly established himself as one of the most formidable power hitters in Associate cricket. Renowned for his boundary clearing ability at the top of the order, he holds the distinction of being the first Canadian player to score multiple T20I centuries, highlighted by a career best 121* off 59 balls against Panama.
On the global stage, Johnson demonstrated his top tier credentials during the 2024 T20 World Cup, notably scoring a combative 52 against a high caliber Pakistan attack on a challenging surface in New York. With experience spanning international cricket, franchise tournaments like the Global T20 Canada, and competitive UK league stints with Shepherd’s Bush in the Middlesex League, Johnson offers elite top order aggression, proven match winning ability, and substantial experience to any high performance environment. He also has strong UK league cricket experience for Shepherds Bush CC in the Middlesex League. As a young up and coming talent he headed over in 2012 & 2013, making 1276 runs @ 45.57, smashing x5 hundreds and x6 fifties during his stint. He also chipped in with his off spin bowling.
Now a more experienced player who has rubbed shoulders with some of the games very best players, Aaron is considering his options and is open to another stint in the UK next summer. He would be a statement signing for any club seeking an aggressive batter and useful off spinner who is sure to entertain with his array of stroke play and dominating presence at the crease.
