Ardmore is pleased to announce the re-signing of their Australian young gun Harry Zimmermann for their 2023 North West Cricket Union campaign.
Zimmermann is a dual Australian/Irish citizen playing in the WACA Grade Competition for Perth Cricket Club in Western Australia.
A talented batting all-rounder, Zimmermann has broken into Perth’s 1st Grade side in recent years – a side that includes the likes of Jonathan Wells (Adelaide Strikers), Josh Nicholas (WA), Liam Guthrie (WA/Brisbane Heat), and Sam Fanning (Aus U19s).
Known as a dedicated, and hard-working cricketer, he spent much of his junior career keeping wicket, before embracing his new role as a top-order batter who bowls medium pace in recent years.
Zimmermann excelled at junior level in WA, breaking into the prestigious Trinity College 1st XI in 2017, where he continued to star until his graduation in 2019. The prior summer, he represented WA Under-17s at the Australian National Championships (Oct 2018) and thereafter made his WACA 1st Grade debut for Perth (2019/20).
During the 2021 Australian winter, Zimmermann embarked on a season in Darwin, playing 1st Grade cricket for Palmerston Cricket Club. He enjoyed a purple patch in the T20 competition, hitting 182 runs at 45.5 in his 5 games with a highest score of 81. Thereafter, he played 14 matches across 2nd Grade and Colts cricket where he scored 374 runs at 19.68 (the majority in the 2nd Grade).
Last winter, Zimmermann ventured to the UK where he enjoyed a productive stint in Northern Ireland for Ardmore. Alongside his success in the North West Cricket Union, he also featured for the Emerging Warriors. Given his performances in 2022, Ardmore is delighted to welcome Zimmermann’s return for a second stint in 2023.
