Ashby Hastings has signed promising South African all-rounder, Malwande Zamo, for their 2020 Leicestershire and Rutland League campaign.

Genuine All-Rounder

Zamo is a talented pace bowling all-rounder playing for Border in both first-class and List A cricket in South Africa.

He broke into the amateur provincial set-up in March 2018, taking figures of 4-37 and 2-35 against KwaZulu-Natal in East London. Opportunities since have been sporadic, but the talented all-rounder has played 12 first-class matches mid-way through the current 2019/20 domestic season with 223 runs at 13.11 and 16 wickets at 30.

Zamo progressed through the Border ranks, representing the province through the age-groups to include Coke Week. He starred for his High School and was an integral member of the Border Academy in 2016/17, where he skippered the side and finished as the leading run-scorer and second-leading wicket-taker. His exploits culminated with Warriors Cubs (U23) inclusion for the CSA Cubs Week in January 2016.

The talented all-rounder, who recently notched up his maiden List A fifty against Northern Cape, has since become a regular for Border and aspires to play Franchise cricket in the future.
