Barkisland is pleased to announce the signing of Australian Overseas Amateur Charles Mitchell for their 2023 Drakes Huddersfield League campaign.
Mitchell is a talented left-handed batting all-rounder (SLA) from NSW, Australia.
Mitchell grew up in Country NSW before moving to Sydney in early 2021 after completing high school in order to represent Gordon District Cricket Club (NSW Premier Cricket) and commence University studies. The Aussie also has the added benefit of holding a British Passport through his English father.
Throughout his teens, he earned selection in NSW and ACT/NSW Country teams on several occasions through his performances in various State Competitions (including 2x NSW Country U16 player of the carnival awards) before coming down with Glandular Fever in late 2020/21. Now recovered, he is progressing through the Grade Cricket ranks and debuted in 1st Grade in the summer of 2021/22; averaging 24.80.
Mitchell, who is also a qualified Cricket Australia Level 1 coach, is now set to embark on his maiden UK stint having signed with Barkisland for their 2023 Drakes Huddersfield League campaign.
