CricX are excited to announce BDCA side Hay Park Cricket Club have signed Joe Williams & Usman Ul-Haq for their upcoming 2023/24 campaign.
Joe has played for Ludlow Cricket Club since he was 12 years old and has progressed his way up from junior teams followed by senior teams to become a regular 1st XI performer. Ludlow play in the Shropshire Premier Division and in 2022 were crowned champions.
A canny slow left-arm spinner, Williams made his debut at 18 years-old and has gone on to take 201 wickets in the last six seasons. In the 2022 season, Joe took an impressive 45 wickets at an average of 16.62, whilst also maintaining an economy of 3.39. This backed up a superb 2021 season where had again taken a staggering 52 wickets, each one costing 12.27.
Usman is a left-handed top-order batter who currently plays his cricket for Shenield Cricket Club in the Essex Cricket League – Premier Division. In a breakthrough 2022, the young gun racked up 400 runs, including three half-centuries, and a best of 82.
Also a product of the Essex County Cricket Club U18’s side, Usman will be looking to the UK 2023 summer to again continue his development and movement up in the game. Also bowling useful slow left-arm orthodox, the 18-year-old has shown he can influence games of cricket with all three facets.
