Bloemendaal is pleased to confirm the signing of promising kiwi gloveman Tristan Payle for their Dutch Hoofdklasse campaign.
Payle is a hugely impressive wicket-keeper batter playing for Suburbs New Lynn Cricket Club in Auckland’s Premier Men’s Competition.
Playing alongside the likes of Aces domestic players including Ben Lister, Sean Solia, and Michael Barry, the gloveman has impressed in recent years averaging nearly 40 with the bat in Premier cricket during and post-COVID (2020-23).
Courtesy of his exploits he has been earmarked for higher honours and has already featured for Auckland A (Nov 2020, when he opened the batting in a side that included the likes of Colin Munro (Blackcaps), and Aces players Louis Delport, Ross ter Braak, Cole Briggs, Simon Keene, and William O’Donnell.
Payle has long been regarded as a player of significant promise. He represented Northern Districts through the age groups and was a non-traveling reserve for New Zealand’s ICC Under-19 World Cup tournament in 2016.
He was a schoolboy prodigy, dominating for Kings College (Auckland) in the Gillette Cup National Secondary Schoolboys Championship (2014), and of course, for Northern Districts age groups.
Payle represented Poverty Bay in the Brian Dunning Cup (2015), before switching to Counties Manukau with whom he played both Fergus Hickey Rosebowl and Hawke Cup fixtures with for three years (2016-19).
Having previously enjoyed a stint with Manukau City, with whom he helped through to the National Club Championships (2016), he is now with Suburbs New Lynn playing in the strong Auckland Premier Competition and aspires to break into the Auckland Aces squad in due course.
For now, though, the talented kiwi is set to embark on his maiden UK stint in 2023 having signed with Bloemendaal for their Dutch Hoofdklasse campaign.
