Burnham is pleased to announce the signing of Afghanistan batter Rehmatullah for their 2022 Home Counties Premier League campaign.

Impressive numbers

Rehmatullah is an accomplished batter with an impressive domestic record.

In 21 first-class matches (Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-Day Tournament) he has 1,386 runs at 46.20 with 4 centuries and 6 fifties – the majority of this coming during his prolific 2017/18 campaign.

Domestic journey…

He opened his 2017 season with a big century (176*), then followed up with another to finish the 2017 calendar as the 6th leading first-class run-scorer (683 runs at 62.09).

Roll on 2018 and he continued to impress churning out 2 further hundreds amongst 469 runs at 46.90.

His success culminated with an international return, this time to the camp for the Indian Tests, following his international debut in an ICC Inter-Continental Cup match as a 16-year-old in October 2013.

His 4-year wait to return to the domestic season was overdue – but he clearly made up for the lost time. Unfortunately, COVID struck at the wrong time as Rehmatullah was pushing towards a full international return. Nevertheless, he continues to ply his trade in Afghanistan and is now eager to push towards higher honours.

Set for Burnham stint

Whilst known for his batting, Rehmatullah is a more than useful spinner who is keen to impress during his maiden UK stint this summer having recently signed with Burnham for their Home Counties Premier League campaign.
