Cannock is excited to confirm the re-signing of Zimbabwean all-rounder Ainsley Ndlovu for their 2023 Staffordshire Club Cricket Championship campaign.

Ndlovu is a talented left-arm spinner who broke into the Zimbabwean national set-up in June 2019.

He featured in 2 ODI’s against the Netherlands, before 3 T20I’s against Bangladesh (1) and Afghanistan (2) in September 2019, 2 Tests against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh (Jan/Feb 2020), then most recently 3 T20I’s against Afghanistan (June 2022).

His initial inclusion was due to his exploits for the Tuskers Franchise across all formats. Playing in a side flooded with international stars, including the likes of Craig Ervine, Brian Chari, Sean Williams, and John Nyumbu, to name but a few, Ndlovu has enjoyed plenty of success in domestic cricket.

Since his Logan Cup debut in 2014/15, the tweaker has taken 100 wickets at 30.48 in 34 first-class matches. In 50-over cricket, he boasts a further 65 wickets at 28.24 in 55 List A matches. He has been one of the stand-out left-arm spinners in domestic cricket.

Last summer (2022), Ndlovu spent the majority of the season plying his trade in the UK for Cannock in the Staffordshire Club Cricket Championship. Whilst he impressed with the ball (28 wickets at 18.50), it was his performances with the bat that really stood out, hitting a century (149*) amongst 672 runs at 51.69.

Given his success last season, Cannock unsurprisingly put pen to paper for Ndlovu’s return for their 2023 Staffordshire Championship campaign.
