Cawthorne is pleased to confirm the signing of Scottish leg-spinning all-rounder Thomas Jones for their Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League campaign.

Jones is an Indian-based, but British-born leg-spin bowling all-rounder looking to advance his professional career.

Recommended by none-other than West Indies legend, Jimmy Adams, who coached him whilst on the Kent Academy, the leg-spinner is eager to return to Northern shores to give County cricket a push this summer.

In recent years, the spinner has been a net bowler for IPL sides including the Lucknow Super Giants, and Gujarat Titans. In-fact, he has recently returned to the latter for their IPL pre-season campaign.

Jones returned to cricket in 2023 following 4-years absence whilst studying Sports Psychology. He feels he’s now perfectly equipped to push for higher honours and is eager to dedicate his energy towards this moving forward.

A former Kent age-group (U15s, U17s) player, Jones featured on the Kent Academy for 3-years, played a 2nd XI match, and enjoyed outings for the Western Warriors in Scotland.

He also spent time playing in both South Africa (Sporting Chatsworth, Dolphins Academy), and Australia (City Colts), with whom he bagged figures of 7-27 (24) in the Wangaratta Competition Grand Final.

In UK club cricket, he has represented Folkestone in the Kent League (2014-16), and Stirling County in Scotland (2018-19), before heading abroad. He is now looking to return for another UK club stint in 2024.

A hugely talented, and ambitious cricketer, the leg-spin bowling all-rounder is set for a UK return in 2024 having signed with Cawthorne for their Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League campaign.
