Cowdrey is pleased to announce the signing of explosive Sri Lankan batter Pramud Hettiwatte for their 2023 Kent League campaign.

Hettiwatte is an exciting batter playing for Ace Capital Cricket Club in Sri Lankan domestic cricket.

He moved to Ace Capital post COVID for the 2021/22 season, following stints with Nugegoda (2019/20), Badureliya (2018/19), and Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club (2017/18).

The hard-hitting batter has impressed in recent seasons, particularly during the 2019/20 first-class season striking 461 runs at 38.41. Whilst known for his batting, he was a key performer with the ball at schoolboy and provincial level, bowling his left-arm spin.

Hettiwatte skippered Nalanda College (Colombo) and was involved with the Sri Lankan spin squad, evidencing his all-round ability. He starred at provincial Under-19 level, particularly with the ball, taking 89 wickets at 18.04 across the three formats. He has played in the Premier Under-23 tournament for several years and, has excelled with bat and ball.

The talented Sri Lankan headed to the UK in 2021 to ply his trade in the Bradford League for Pudsey Congs. He enjoyed plenty of success, predominantly with the bat hitting 876 runs at 39.82.

Hettiwatte is now set to return to Northern shores for a second stint in 2023 having signed with Cowdrey for their Kent League campaign.
