CricX is excited to announce Parkdale United Cricket Club’s double-signing of Dan Newton and Isaac Brooks for their 2023/24 Cricket Southern Bayside campaign.
Firstly, a genuine all-rounder who is making a name for himself in the Cheshire County League, Dan currently plays at boyhood side Sale Cricket Club. After graduating through the clubs junior pathway the right-handed top-order batter, who also opens the bowling, made his 1st XI debut back in 2017.
A right-arm seamer, Newton has already amassed nearly 100 wickets for the clubs flag ship side. In 2022 he claimed 45 wickets at an average of 21.16, including a best of 4/25. In 2021, Dan had already started to dominate the competition with the ball as he took 30 wickets at an average of 17.10.
Next, a product of the Cheshire pathway, Isaac is a talented youngster on the radar of counties since a young age after representing North Of England back in 2020. Making his debut for current club Sale in the Cheshire Premier League, it was back in 2017 when Isaac at just 13 year old he was introduced to senior first-team cricket.
After successfully negotiating his early years of top-level senior cricket, Isaac claimed 25 wickets at an average of 26.12. After a profitable season, Brooks decided to relocate to fellow Cheshire Premier side Bowden ahead of the 2022 season. He went on to claim 28 wickets from 240 overs, boasting an economy of 3.88 for the year.
The Melbourne side have taken the attacking approach to bolster their ranks with a view to improve on last season’s 6th place finish. We wish Dan, Isaac and everyone at Parkdale United CC the best of luck during their upcoming summer!
