Dumbleton has signed talented Sri Lankan wicket-keeper batter Rashmika Madushanka for their 2023 West of England Premier League campaign.

Madushanka is a wonderful talent currently making waves for Kandy Customs Cricket Club in Sri Lankan domestic cricket.

A skillful batter, and gifted gloveman, Madushanka broke into professional cricket in November 2021 whilst still in his teens. Playing alongside fellow CricX stars (and proven UK league professionals) including Imesh Udayanga, and Ravindra Karunaratne, the young gun has impressed.

Having enjoyed a glittering schoolboy (Mahinda College), district, and age group provincial career, Madushanka seemed destined for the big time. He showed his skill on debut, striking 28 against Nugegoda in the Major Clubs Limited Overs Tournament (List A).

9 months later, he would make his Major League Tournament (first-class) debut against Burgher hitting 30 in the first innings. He would go on to hit scores of 47* (v Moors), 40 (v Ragama), 91 (v Kurunegala Youth), 46 (v KTC), and 55 (v Sinhalese) over the next few games to show glimpses of what’s likely to come. As it stands, Madushanka has now scored 412 runs at 31.69 in his 10 first-class matches to date.

Madushanka really is an incredible prospect who aspires to play international cricket. In view of his development, he is set to play for Dumbleton for their 2023 West of England Premier League campaign.
