Fairburn is delighted to welcome Bangladesh all-rounder, Rahatul Ferdous Javed, to the club for its 2024 Yorkshire Premier League North campaign.
Rahatul Ferdous Javed is an experienced spin-bowling all-rounder who has graced Bangladeshi domestic cricket for a decade.
During this period, he has played well over 100 matches across the three formats, where he has enjoyed plenty of success. To date, he has scored over 1,500 runs and taken 170 plus wickets, with best performances of 106* and 7-75, both in first-class cricket.
A former Bangladesh age-group player, at his height (2016/17), he represented the Emerging Players and was on the verge of national consideration. Over the prior three years in first-class cricket, he had season tallies of 281 runs at 40.14 / 21 wickets at 27.66 (2014/15), 283 runs at 31.44 / 22 wickets at 41.81 (2015/16), and 230 runs at 23 / 20 wickets at 28.75 (2016/17).
Unfortunately, Javed’s numbers in red-ball cricket have tailed off since, nevertheless, he remains a key performer in white-ball cricket, where he has 78 wickets at 27.80, and 10 wickets at 15.20 in List A and T20, respectively – the latter taken during the 2020/21 Dhaka Premier T20 League season.
Javed remains a top performer who also impressed during his maiden UK stint playing for Hetton Lyons in the North East Premier League in 2022 (438 runs and 27 wickets).
The all-rounder is now set to return to Northern shores in 2024 and is eager to impress for his new club, Fairburn, for their Yorkshire Premier League North campaign.
