Corio is delighted to announce the signing of Northants Academy prospect Charlie Hood for their 2023/24 Geelong Cricket Association campaign.

Hood is an extremely talented young prospect from Norfolk, England.

A right-handed top-order batter who is also a superb wicket-keeper, Charlie is currently in his second year on the Northamptonshire County Cricket Club academy pathway and has already made three appearances for the Counties senior 2XI.

Rated extremely highly gloveman currently plays his Saturday matches for Cromer Cricket Club In the Norfolk Alliance Premier Division. In 2022, between his Academy and County age-group cricket, Hood played 8 matches from his club averaging 29.71. He opened the batting on every occasion and also took the gloves, a high score of 71 not out been a highlight whilst also claiming 14 catches and 4 stumpings.

The young prospect also starred for his school 1XI in 2022, whilst also captained the side. In total Charlie scored 1,324 runs at an average of 63.05 for Gresham school, recording 6 hundreds and 2 fifties showing his impressive ability to bat for long periods and make big scores at just 17 years old.

Now heading into the 2023 UK season, the exciting gloveman will have another season of senior cricket for both Northampton and Cromer under his belt before he heads down under for the 2023/24 season where he is set to play for Corio in the Geelong Cricket Association.
