Geyser City is delighted to announce the signing of prolific English batter Tyler McGladdery for its 2022/23 Baywide Premier Championship campaign.

McGladdery is a hugely talented left-handed batter who bowls left-arm orthodox spin from Lancashire, England. Widely regarded as one of the best batters outside the professional game, McGladdery still aspires to break into County cricket in future.

A stand-out performer in the Liverpool League, McGladdery’s numbers over numerous years clearly evidence his prowess with bat-in-hand. He currently plays for Rainhill Cricket Club following a 2-year stint with Liverpool powerhouse Ormskirk. To date, he has churned out almost 7,000 runs with 10 centuries and an average in the mid-30s.

At representative level, McGladdery progressed through the Lancashire set-up playing age-group cricket for the Red Rose. After a season for the 2nd XI in 2018 he moved to Derbyshire where he racked up 459 runs at 38.25 for the 2nd XI. Last summer (2021), following the COVID break, McGladdery trialed for Warwickshire playing 2nd XI cricket alongside his club commitments for Rainhill (950 plus runs averaging neigh on 50).

The talented batter has also enjoyed two run-filled stints in Australia scoring 1,116 runs at 41.33 for Wyndhamvale (VIC), and Marist Bunbury (WA), respectively. He is now set to play over the ditch in 2022/23 having signed with New Zealand club Geyser City for their The Baywide Premier Championship campaign.
