HCC is delighted to confirm the signing of Wellington Firebirds’ quick Adam Leonard for their 2024 Topklasse campaign.

Leonard is a talented bowling all-rounder from New Zealand’s capital, Wellington.

A skilful right-arm seamer and hard-hitting middle-order batter, Leonard is at the start of his professional cricketing career. After spending time in the Wellington age-group set up, Leonard has progressed through to Wellington A, and after impressing, finally made his Firebirds first-class debut in October 2022.

Since then the Kiwi has gone to play 3 Plunket Shield matches, whilst also featuring in multiple Firebirds white ball squads.

In club cricket, Leonard turns out for Victoria University, with whom he has been a stand-out performer in recent years. Over the past 2023/24 season, the all-rounder batted in the top-order averaging low-20s with a highest score of 96, and opened the bowling bagging 16 wickets at 21.75.

With ambitions to become a Firebirds regular, Leonard is set to continue his development abroad in 2024 having signed with Dutch powerhouse HCC for their Topklasse campaign.
