Highfield is over the moon to announce the signing of in-form Ranji Trophy all-rounder, Mohit Jangra, for their 2024 Liverpool League campaign.

Jangra is an exceptional all-rounder playing, and excelling, for Mizoram in Indian domestic cricket.

A schoolboy prodigy, Jangra dominated all age-group tournaments (Cooch Behar Trophy, Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Vijay Merchant Trophy, and U19 Challenger Trophy) culminating with India U19 selection (July/August 2018). He featured in 10 matches, and was India’s leading seamer during their victorious Asia Cup campaign, including best figures of 3-25 (9) in the Semi Final.

In 2019, he was picked up by Uttar Pradesh and went on to make his T20 (Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy), List A (Vijay Hazare Trophy), and first-class (Ranji Trophy) debuts. Unfortunately, COVID struck, hampering his progression for the State. Nevertheless, he has recently returned to the domestic fold – this time for Mizoram, where he has excelled.

After a barnstorming List A campaign (Nov/Dec 2023), including a notable all-round performance against Bihar (91* and 4-25), he would make his Ranji Trophy debut for Mizoram in January 2024. It’s fair to say the all-round starred on debut. After figures of 3-125 (43.3) in the first innings (and 4-83 off 21 overs in the second), he would strike a sensational hundred from number 7. His 126 came from only 124 balls and included 10 fours and 7 sixes. Remarkably, despite his ton and 7 wickets, he found himself on a losing side.

Roll on his second Ranji outing of the 2023/24 campaign, this time against Nagaland. Jangra would continue to excel, striking yet another hundred (113* from 146 balls), after bagging figures of 6-52 (27.1) in the first-innings. He would take a further 3 wickets in the second innings (from 44.4 overs), before more runs in the second dig (61).

The future looks incredibly bright for the talented all-rounder, who has already been involved with IPL Franchises Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings.

Having not gained IPL inclusion for the 2024 edition, Jangra is now set to travel abroad having signed with Highfield for their Liverpool and District Cricket Competition campaign.
