Hursley Park is delighted to confirm the signing of Sarah Barber for their 2023 Women’s Southern Premier League campaign.
Barber is a talented batting all-rounder who in recent times has skippered the KwaZulu-Natal Inland Senior Women’s team.
Hailing from Wembley College, Barber represented KZN Inland Under-19s from 14-years-old, and in 2018 made the South African Under-19 Fillies team.
Originally an out-and-out seamer, over the past few years she has developed her game significantly, from batting in the lower order to batting at 4 of late.
Barber has high hopes of breaking into the senior South African Women’s side in the future, then playing Franchise cricket globally.
She enjoyed a maiden UK stint in 2022 utilising her Ancestry Visa to play for Beaconsfield in the Home Counties Women’s Cricket League. She excelled, hitting 407 runs at 58.14.
After another strong season abroad, this time down under for Melbourne-based club Edinburgh, she is set to embark on his second UK stint having signed with Hursley Park for their 2023 Women’s Southern Premier League campaign.
