Kirkburton is pleased to announce the signing of Australian amateur Aaron Joby for their 2022 Drakes Huddersfield League campaign.

British-born, Australian-bred…

Aaron Joby is a tremendous batting prospect making waves in Queensland, Australia.

The British-born (Liverpool) left-hander currently plays for the famous South Brisbane District Cricket Club in Queensland Premier Cricket.

A serious prospect

Whilst only 17, Joby has already broken into 1st Grade following several run-filled seasons in the lower grades in recent years.

Last summer (2020/21), Joby became the youngest player in Queensland Premier Cricket history to score 150 in 3rd Grade, finishing 157* against Western Suburbs. In all formats, Joby scored 463 runs ta 38.58 for South Brisbane.

In form

This season (2021/22), he kicked off the season with a 99 in 2nd Grade to earn his 1st Grade debut the following round. He has since played predominantly in the 2nd Grade where he has 496 runs at 45.09, to include a century (124), amongst his season tally of 740 runs at 43.53.

It’s far to say, the dual Passport holder has a bright future and seems destined for Queensland Under-19 honours when the National Championships come round in April 2022.
