Lindfield will see the return of their star Sri Lankan next summer with Imesh Udayanga putting pen to paper recently.
Udayanga is an experienced spin-bowling all-rounder boasting an impressive career spanning more than a decade.
A former Sri Lankan Under-19 star, Udayanga has played over 160 domestic matches across the three formats since his T20 debut in April 2008.
He has scored well over 3,000 runs with a highest score of 107 and has bagged 200 plus wickets, the majority of which coming in red-ball cricket.
Udayanga currently plays for Kandy Customs Sports Club, with whom he joined last season (2022/23). He has previously represented a number of Sri Lankan sides including the likes of Galle, Moors, Nondescripts, Badureliya, and Ports Authority.
The all-rounder has also enjoyed success in Australia, playing three stints – initially with Bundoora United (2016/17-17/18) in the Diamond Valley Cricket Association (Money Shield), before a season with Brown Hill (2019/20) in the strong Ballarat Cricket Association (First Grade). In his 37 matches for both clubs, Udayanga scored 762 runs at 27.21 and took 44 wickets at 24.93.
The talented off-spin bowling all-rounder has also starred with three successful stints in England with Madeley in the Shropshire County Cricket League (2021-22: 1,598 runs at 47 and 72 wickets at 18.85), and Lindfield in the Sussex League (2023 – 730 runs at 56.15 and 24 wickets at 17.21)
Udayanga is a high-class performer who, following his Sri Lankan domestic season will return for a second Sussex stint with Lindfield in 2024.
