Lordswood is excited to reveal its overseas recruit for the 2023 season, namely South African seamer Thando Ntini for their Kent Premier League campaign.
Ntini is an exciting prospect and son of Proteas legend Makhaya Ntini. Like his father, Thando is an opening bowler who’s enjoyed plenty of success during his career to date.
He represented South Africa at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in January 2018 and was picked up by the South Africa Emerging Players in 2019. He has starred at both provincial and Franchise level for Western Province, Cape Cobras, Titans, and most recently KwaZulu-Natal Coastal, and the Dolphins.
In 49 domestic matches to date, Ntini has taken 71 wickets, including best bowling figures of 4-36 on his Momentum One Day Cup debut for the Cobras in February 2020.
The talented quick, who is a useful batter in the lower-middle order, really is quite the prospect for South Africa in future. In a view to continuing his development, Ntini is set to return to the UK in 2023 following his brief stint with Canterbury (Kent League) in 2019.
Ntini has signed with Lordswood Cricket Club for the Kent Premier League campaign in 2023.
