Lordswood has swooped to sign Pakistani paceman Touseeq Shah for their 2021 Kent League campaign.

A prolific talent

Shah is an exciting pace bowling prospect who played for Northern Areas in the Quaid-e-Azam Second XI Trophy last summer, following his debut season for Rawalpindi in Pakistani domestic cricket.

The tall quick, who boasts a striking resemblance to the World’s leading seamer, Muhammad Abbas, burst onto the scene in 2018 and now seems destined for the big time.

Serious start to his domestic career

The right-arm quick took 8 wickets on debut against ZTBL (4-49, 4-15), before taking 9 wickets in his second match against Pakistan TV (5-30, 4-103).

Shah grabbed his second five-wicket haul the following month against Multan (5-75) and finished the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy as Rawalpindi’s joint leading wicket-taker (alongside Haseeb Azam and Saad Altaf), with 23 wickets at 20.34, despite playing only 6 matches.

Playing in the star-studded Rawalpindi side, which features several International players, Shah impressed so it was surprising he wasn’t selected in 2019/20. Nevertheless, he continues to press for re-selection.

Touseeq signs for Lordswood

In a view to helping his cause, he is set to play UK league cricket in 2021, having recently signed with Lordswood for their Kent Cricket League campaign.
