Madeley is pleased to announce the signing of Sri Lankan all-rounder Yasoda Mendis for their 2021 Shropshire County Cricket League campaign.
Top tier all-rounder
Mendis is a pace-bowling all-rounder playing in the top tier of Sri Lankan cricket.
A late bloomer, Mendis broke into domestic cricket in January 2017, and ultimately cemented his spot the following summer.
Playing for Sri Lanka Army Sports Club, alongside international stars Dinesh Chandimal, Asela Gunaratne, and Seekkuge Prasanna, the all-rounder has impressed over the past two seasons.
Domestic success…
In 2018/19, he struck 233 runs at 23.30 from the lower-middle order, then last summer showed his all-round skills by taking 16 wickets at 15 with the ball.
His season highlight came against Moors Sports Club, dismantling the side with figures of 7-18 (15.1).
