CricX is delighted to announce Napier Old Boys Marist CC’s marquee signing of English All-Rounder, Daaryoush Ahmed, for the 2023/24 campaign.
Ahmed is an exciting top-order batsman and seam bowler who made his debut for Gloucestershire 2nd XI in 2019. He has also been a key player for the highly regarded Cardiff MCCU/UCCE team during his recent University studies from 2019-2022.
The talented Englishman began his journey in the Gloucestershire CCC age groups at U11 through to U19 when he captained the side in 2018. Since then, Ahmed has excelled in club cricket, playing in the West of England Premier League (WEPL) for the past 5 years. In 2021, he received the WEPL ‘Player of the Year’ award, scoring 757 runs including a high score of 137* for Golden Hill CC to help guide his side to a league and cup title.
Ahmed had a blistering start to the 2022 season. A brutal innings of 65 from just 35 balls for Golden Hill CC in the WEPL T20 cup, earned him a recall to the Gloucestershire 2nd XI lineup for the Vitality T20 competition. Daaryoush produced an Eye-catching performance when he struck a scintillating 57 off 38 balls opening the batting for Cardiff UCCE vs Sussex (the likes of Ravi Bopara and George Garton in the opposition lineup).
After returning from a troublesome ankle injury at the start of 2022, Ahmed made a strong return opening the bowling for his club in the WEPL season. The 22-year-old finished the campaign with 635 runs @ 31.75, including 4 half-centuries and a century. With the ball in hand, he finished the season with 21 wickets at 28.29 apiece.
We would like to wish Daaryoush and everyone at Napier Old Boys Marist CC the best of luck for their upcoming season.
