Oakamoor is pleased to confirm the signing of promising Sri Lankan batting all-rounder Rashmika Dulanjana for their 2024 North Staffs and South Cheshire League campaign.
Last summer (2022/23) he broke into first-class cricket playing alongside fellow CricX stars including Adeesha Nanayakkara, Asantha Singappuli, Vinodh Perera, and Navin Kavikara.
He struck 245 runs from the middle-lower order with an average of 20.41, with the highlight – a quick fire 56 against an attack featuring Sri Lankan spinners Lasith Ambuldeniya, and Sahan Arachchige.
With the ball, opportunities were fairly limited in red-ball cricket, but he did impress during the T20 campaign taking 7 wickets at 16.85, all with an economy rate of 6.37.
A player who comes highly recommended, Dulanjana broke into professional cricket following an outstanding MCA campaign whereby he was named 2022’s best batter and was the season’s MVP. He was subsequently picked for Navy to play first-class, and the rest is history.
The talented youngster is now set to follow in the footsteps of his Navy team-mates and play UK club cricket, where he hopes to impress. He has joined Oakamoor for their 2024 North Staffs and South Cheshire League campaign.
