Qui Vive is delighted to announce the signing of talented kiwi prospect James Rawnsley for their 2023 Eerste Klasse campaign.
Rawnsley is an exciting batting all-rounder coming through the Hawkes Bay and Central Districts’ ranks in New Zealand cricket.
An energetic, hard-working, and highly driven opening bat who bowls useful leg spin, Rawnsley is also a dynamic fielder with clinical catching ability and speed across the ground.
Rawnsley has not only represented Central Districts at both U17 and U19 levels but has skippered both sides, including the latter to the National Under-19 title.
A schoolboy prodigy, Rawnsley played over 100 1st XI matches for the prestigious Napier Boys’ High School. Over his 3 seasons, he racked up over 2,500 runs at 32.4 with 3 hundreds, and 12 fifties. With the ball, his leg-spin bagged 33 wickets at 20.29, not to mention 50 catches in the field.
Courtesy of his NBHS exploits, he earned Hawkes Bay (Minor Association) and Central Districts (Major Association) age group honours. For the latter, across U17 and U19 matches, Rawnsley has scored 512 runs at 34.1 with 5 fifties.
The talented batting all-rounder, who has also won titles with both his club, Napier Tech (Club Nationals), and Hawkes Bay (Hawke Cup), is pushing for Central Districts A, and in future, Stags honours.
In view towards his development, Rawnsley is set to embark on a stint abroad having signed with Dutch club Qui Vive for their Eerste Klasse campaign.
