Southport and Birkdale are over the moon to confirm the signing of future Indian superstar Aryan Juyal for their 2023 Liverpool Competition campaign.

Juyal is an absolute star in the making who skippered India Under-19s and is currently dominating for Uttar Pradesh across the three domestic formats.

In the infancy of his senior career, he has excelled in both the Ranji Trophy (first-class), and Vijay Hazare Trophy (List A) competitions. During the latter (Nov 2022) he belted 494 runs at 70.57 from the top of the order with centuries against Hyderabad (100* from 136 balls), and Maharashtra (159 from 143 balls) in the quarter-final.

Such was his talent, Juyal was bought by the Mumbai Indians for the 2022 IPL, albeit he didn’t feature. His selection, though, was evidence of his undoubted potential, rather than T20 performance in his 7 matches to date. However, those who have witnessed his junior career believe he has what it takes to become a superstar.

Juyal first hit the limelight when belting 401 runs from 5 innings, when topping the Vinoo Mankad Trophy run charts in 2017. He was picked to travel to New Zealand for the ICC Under-19 World Cup, before skippering the side on the Sri Lankan tour later during the 2018 calendar year. In November 2019, he was named in India’s squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Asia Cup in Bangladesh, then a month later made his Uttar Pradesh debut in first class cricket.

He struck 371 runs at 33.72 with 3 fifties and his maiden Ranji Trophy century (109) during the 2019/20 season, before COVID struck. Since the resumption of domestic cricket, Juyal has excelled across all formats. During the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (October 2022), he rattled off 218 runs at 54.50, before his breathtaking Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament the following month (494 runs at 70.57).

Juyal has clearly enjoyed a meteoric rise in the game and he is now set for a stint abroad having signed with Southport and Birkdale for their 2023 Liverpool and District Cricket Competition campaign.
