Firstly, Muncaster is more than capable of batting anywhere in the top order/middle order but likes to open the innings and try and take the game to opposition. The batsman plays in the strong ECB Premier League for the famous Blackpool Cricket Club and has been an integral part of the side that has won 2 ECB Premier League titles in recent years.
The Lancastrian is approaching 1000 runs at 1st Team level averaging in the mid teens, which probably doesnt show his potential to the extent it should. Jake started off as a quick bowler but latterly Jake has focussed on his batting, fulfilling a number of rolls in the Blackpool 1st XI top and middle order, recently breaking the club record for the highest opening stand in T/20, putting on 187 with the Blackpool CC professional for the first wicket. Jake also had at his disposal a significant ability in the field, covering ground with pace and making use of a bullet arm with regularity.
Secondly, the Englishman has the ability to move the ball both ways, and enjoys bowling long spells. At club level Thomson plays for the famous Blackpool Cricket Club in the Northern Premier League and has been one of the standout seamers in the league for a number of years. To date the seamer has 140 wickets at an average of 21 for the 1st XI side.
Over the last 2 years the seamer has really stepped up and average less than 20 with the ball, and has taken nearly 60 wickets during that time. Against the Northern Premier League Champions elect he took an astonishing 7 for 8 in a 42 run victory. During his time in the 1st team he has won the League twice and won the League Cup.
We would like to wish Jake, Jamie & everyone at Mount Waverley Catholic CC all the best for their upcoming campaign.
